Poems of Remembrance
Now you have gone I'm all alone
I can no longer hear you on the phone.
I can no longer meet you off the buss
no one for me to make a fuss.
~
I can relive the memory of what we had,
sometimes happy, rarely bad.
Now alone I still travel around,
no other friend have I found.
~
We had a lot we used to share,
a friendship we held with pride and care.
When you left you never said goodbye,
I know you never liked to see me cry.
~
You were always there to understand,
always ready to lend a hand.
A more faithful friend there'll never be,
you would not let anyone put one me.
~
But now you've gone to the promised land,
where our dear Lord took your hand.
Now you've found peace and rest,
you've got your wings, you were the best.
~
